It's the little things.

Such a simple way to add some character. I never really stopped loving rainbows, and this Pantone-esque set of wooden spoons makes me want to find my paints. So easy, so inspirational.

Willkommen!

Welcome to version 2.0 of this blog that I'd forgotten for a year and a half. I wanted a place to post about design and other creative things without having to go through Tumblr. Lo and behold, here it is! After much procrastination, of course. It is me, after all!

I'm wild about this 1960s-inspired Fillmore Sofa by Thrive Furniture. The Polyester denim blend in "Lucky Turquoise" is absolutely dreamy, and the blonde stain on the wood makes me weak at the knees. Would this be a sofa appropriate for napping and movie watching? Probably not. However, it would effortlessly brighten up a room. At $1,899, I don't think I'll be owning this anytime soon, but a girl can dream, right?

Have you ever seen such an incredible chest? (Hardy har har, Jessica)
The beauty of this piece of furniture is in the exaggerated details of something as ordinary as wood grain. Made of mixed materials, designer Richard Woods has really created something beautiful. Unfortunately, it's even more unattainable than the Thrive sofa, at $4,250. Doesn't stop me from staring, though!

Why shouldn't someone arrange their colored pencils this beautifully? Organized and visually stunning.

I am picky about iPhone camera apps.

The one photography iPhone app I generally prefer is CameraBag. There are a few effects I like, so I will share them with you! These are all the same photo, obviously.

I'm going to start reviewing things.

In June(ish) of 2009, my cat started throwing up after every meal. Within minutes of eating, I'd have a mess to clean, and it was really worrying and disgusting me. My mom and I took her to the vet multiple times, and they found nothing. They recommended feeding her boiled chicken breast and white rice for a week or two and then put her back on her regular cat food.

Well, that didn't work at all. I was so frustrated that I went out and bought a plethora of canned cat food. Really premium, wholesome stuff. She liked some of it, but then she vomited it up. I SERIOUSLY FELT SO FRUSTRATED AT THIS POINT. After doing a bit of my own research, I concluded that my darling cat had an intolerance to either corn, soy, or wheat. I picked up some Wellness brand cat food, and she hasn't thrown up since. Aside from hairballs, of course.

That brings us to the ORGANIX Organic Cat Treats. My cat LOVES these! They're free of all filler ingredients, they have a mere ONE calorie per treat, and they're not expensive by any means. I was afraid that Sofie would be pissed off that I was giving her healthier treats, but she was happy as can be. I am so very happy that I've found a healthy treat for my cat! Now, if only I could find a healthy treat that makes me that happy.

I really have to pee right now...

I guess I became prematurely excited about Valentine's Day 2011. Turns out that my boyfriend won't be able to be here until the 25th, which initially caused me to explode and cry and make him feel guilty. I can take the easy way out and blame hormones, but I think that I was just really excited by the idea of doing something silly and romantic on that particular day. Why, I've never had a romantic Valentine's Day, nor have I wanted one.

Sadly, it appears as though we will need to reschedule for another day. I'm thinking Disneyland on the 26th, so maybe we can celebrate then. On the 14th of this month I hope to go out for coffee or tea with a friend; I needn't pity myself for long.
